Seoul: Netmarble Corp. on Thursday reported its fourth-quarter net loss of 166.7 billion won (US$115.1 million), remaining in the red compared with a year ago. The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the October-December period rose 87.2 percent on-year to 35.2 billion won. Sales decreased 2.5 percent to 649 billion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the loss was 245.6 percent higher than the average estimate, based on a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The sharp increase in net loss highlights the challenges Netmarble is facing, despite the rise in operating profit during the same period.
