Navy and Marine Corps Launch Joint Landing Drills in Pohang

Pohang: The Navy and Marine Corps have initiated joint landing drills in the southeastern port city of Pohang. These exercises are part of the military's annual Hoguk defense exercise, according to statements released by the armed services on Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, approximately 2,400 troops from the Navy, Marine Corps, special warfare command, and drone command have been deployed for this six-day exercise, which is scheduled to conclude on Thursday. The drills involve the deployment of about 20 vessels, 15 KAAV amphibious assault vehicles, and six MUH-1 Marineon helicopters.

In addition to the landing drills, the troops will participate in various types of training designed to enhance military logistics capabilities. This includes the operation of transport drones and the transshipment of equipment and goods.
