Navies of South Korea and Canada Conduct Joint Drill Off Canadian West Coast

Seoul: The navies of South Korea and Canada held a joint drill this week off the Canadian west coast, Seoul's military said Saturday. The exercise was a collaborative effort to enhance the operational capabilities of both nations' naval forces.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the drill involved significant military assets from both countries. South Korea deployed the 3,000-ton ROKS Dosan Ahn Chang-ho submarine and the 3,100-ton frigate Daejeon, along with Navy helicopters. On the other hand, Canada participated with its HMCS Corner Brook submarine and Ottawa frigate, as well as CH-148 shipborne helicopters.

The South Korean Navy stated that the joint exercises were focused on strengthening joint operational capabilities between the two countries. The activities included anti-ship shooting and anti-submarine warfare, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the two navies.
