Seoul: Naver Corp., South Korea's largest internet company, announced the launch of a new music streaming service in partnership with Spotify, the global audio and subscription-based streaming platform.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Spotify Premium Basic has been integrated into Naver's premium Naver Plus Membership program. Subscribers to Naver Plus Membership, who pay a monthly fee of 4,900 won (US$3.34), now have access to Spotify's extensive library of over 100 million tracks and approximately 7 million podcasts at no additional charge, provided they select this option within the program.
The same service is available for 7,900 won per month when accessed directly through Spotify's own app. Additionally, users can navigate the Spotify app while using Naver Map's navigation mode. This introduction of services is a result of a strategic partnership between Naver and Spotify signed earlier this month.
