Beijing: National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik on Wednesday attended a massive military parade in China alongside North Korea's Kim Jong-un and other world leaders. Woo, accompanied by his wife, was present at Tiananmen Square as China commemorated its anniversary of victory over Japan in World War II.

According to Yonhap News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stood beside Chinese President Xi Jinping throughout the event. Kim, along with Russia's Vladimir Putin and Xi, ascended the rostrum together, while Woo was positioned further back in the procession. Prior to his departure for China, Woo expressed uncertainty about a possible encounter with Kim.

Woo's itinerary includes meetings with senior officials from the National People's Congress and the State Council before his scheduled return on Friday.
