Seoul: National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik has been officially invited by China to attend a significant military parade in Beijing, marking the end of World War II next month, his office announced on Wednesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Woo received the invitation from the Chinese government to participate in the Victory Day event on September 3. The invitation was extended following a closed-door meeting with Dai Bing, the Chinese Ambassador to South Korea. As of now, Woo's office has stated that further details regarding his participation will be disclosed once his attendance is confirmed.
China is preparing to host an extensive military parade at Tiananmen Square on September 3. The event is intended to commemorate the 80th anniversary of China's victory over Japanese aggression during World War II.
