Seoul: North Korea's state media on Wednesday reported on leader Kim Jong-un's arrival in Beijing, omitting any mention of his young daughter, Ju-ae, accompanying him. Kim arrived in Beijing to attend a large-scale military parade at Tiananmen Square.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the North's Rodong Sinmun and the Korean Central Broadcasting Station, a radio service, shared the news a day after Kim's arrival. The newspaper published photos of Kim being welcomed by Cai Qi, a member of the Chinese Communist Party's central committee, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and other Chinese officials, with Ju-ae present.

Despite Ju-ae's presence in the photos, the daily did not mention her. It reported that the city of Beijing was filled with "the closest friendship and passionate welcome" as it greeted Kim.
