Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has overseen a test launch of long-range strategic cruise missiles, calling for the "unlimited and sustained" development of state nuclear combat forces, state media reported Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the drill took place Sunday in the Yellow Sea with the aim of reviewing the "counter-offensive response posture and combat capability of long-range missile sub-units," as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The strategic cruise missiles were reported to have flown along a preset flight orbit for 10,199 seconds and 10,203 seconds to successfully hit a target.

The KCNA further reported that Kim Jong-un affirmed the commitment of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to devote all efforts to the ongoing development of the state nuclear combat force. The statement emphasized the continued focus on enhancing North Korea's military capabilities, using the acronym of North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
