N. Korea’s Kim Jong-un Oversees High-Thrust Solid-Fuel Missile Engine Test

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has overseen a ground test of a high-thrust solid-fuel missile engine using a composite carbon fiber material. The test is part of the country's five-year plan to enhance its strategic strike capabilities, state media reported on Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim supervised the test of the newly upgraded engine, which features composite carbon fiber material and has a maximum thrust of 2,500 kilonewtons. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) did not disclose the specific date or location of the test.

The test aligns with a five-year national defense development plan focused on steadily upgrading strategic strike means. KCNA quoted Kim, stating that North Korea's defense capabilities have "entered a significant phase of change in the building of the strategic forces."
