N. Korean Foreign Minister Highlights Strategic Alignment with Russia

Pyongyang: North Korea's Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui emphasized that her country shares "a common position" with Russia on all strategic issues during an event commemorating a late Russian ambassador, a Russian report has stated.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Choe made these remarks at a ceremony held the previous day to unveil a memorial plaque at the Russian Embassy, dedicated to former Ambassador Alexander Matsegora. Matsegora had served as Russia's ambassador to North Korea for over a decade and passed away suddenly at the age of 70 last December, with the cause of death remaining unknown.

Choe highlighted the alignment between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Russian Federation, stating that their shared position on strategic issues reflects the level of allied relations between the two nations. "By consistently defending our core mutual interests, (Moscow and Pyongyang) are achieving success in the comprehensive expansion and development of bilateral relations and in improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries," she noted.

Further, Choe reiterated North Korea's commitment to enhancing relations with Russia, emphasizing the importance of comradeship and trust that has been forged through challenging times, as reported by Tass.
