Seoul: North Korea announced on Thursday that it has successfully test-fired a tactical ballistic missile equipped with a cluster bomb warhead. The missile, according to North Korean claims, possesses the ability to "reduce to ashes any target" within its operational range by utilizing its highest-density power.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the missile identified as the Hwasong-11Ka was launched as part of a series of tests involving "important" weapons systems. These tests were conducted over a span of three days, from Monday to Wednesday, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The KCNA detailed that the missile is capable of targeting areas ranging from 6.5 to 7 hectares, effectively demonstrating its destructive power. The test was one among several, including evaluations of an electromagnetic weapon system and carbon fiber sham bombs. These tests aimed to verify the combat reliability of North Korea's mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile system.

On Wednesday afternoon, the South Korean military reported the detection of a short-range ballistic missile launched from the Wonsan area towards the East Sea. This followed multiple missile launches earlier that morning. Additionally, on Tuesday, North Korea fired another unidentified projectile from the Pyongyang area, which reportedly disappeared shortly after launch, suggesting a potential failure.
