N. Korea and China Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Ties During Beijing Meeting


Beijing: North Korea’s Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui met with China’s Premier Li Qiang to reaffirm Pyongyang’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with Beijing, as reported by North Korea’s state media on Tuesday. The meeting took place in Beijing on the third day of Choe’s four-day visit to China and included discussions with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi.



According to Yonhap News Agency, Choe emphasized the steadfast position of North Korea to fortify and develop the traditional partnership with China, as agreed upon by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Chinese President Xi Jinping in their recent talks. This commitment aligns with the demands of the current era and aims to stimulate high-level exchanges between the two nations.



Choe also detailed North Korea’s efforts to complete its five-year economic development plan and extended wishes for China’s success in its national rejuvenation endeavors under President Xi. The Chinese premier, Li Qiang, highlighted the strengthening of the North Korea-China partnership under the leadership of Kim and Xi, viewing it from a strategic and long-term perspective.



Li expressed China’s dedication to its friendship with North Korea, stating it as an unwavering foreign policy stance. He also conveyed China’s readiness to enhance exchanges, cooperation, and strategic communications with Pyongyang to promote greater welfare for both countries’ citizens.
