‘My Royal Nemesis’ Tops Netflix’s Weekly Non-English Chart

Seoul: The fantasy rom-com series “My Royal Nemesis,” featuring “The Glory” star Lim Ji-yeon, has secured the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s non-English chart, the streaming platform announced Wednesday. The SBS drama series has captivated audiences worldwide, garnering 3.9 million views for the week ending Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, “My Royal Nemesis” has made a significant impact globally, placing in the top 10 in 44 countries and regions. This includes South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Greece, and Mexico, where the series has resonated with viewers. The intriguing storyline, released just last week, follows a legendary villain from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), whose soul reincarnates into the body of a modern-day actress struggling with fame.

Korean shows have dominated the weekly chart, with the young adult horror series “If Wishes Could Kill” taking the No. 2 position, while the rom-com series “Sold Out on You” claimed the third spot. In the English-language film category, “KPop Demon Hunters” maintained its strong presence, ranking No. 5 and remaining in the top 10 for an impressive 47 consecutive weeks.
