Moon watches N. Koreans compete in ski event at Paralympics
SEOUL, President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook on Wednesday watched a cross-country skiing event in person at the Winter Paralympics in the country's alpine town of PyeongChang, an event in which North Korean skiers competed, the presidential office said.
It's the first time Moon has watched an event on location during the Paralympics that began Friday for a 10-day-run, an apparent show of friendliness toward the North, whose leader Kim Jong-un is scheduled to have a historic summit with him next month.
North Korea's Ma You-chol and Kim Jong-hyon competed in the men's 1.5km cross-country sprint at the special invitation of the International Paralympic Committee. North Korea sent a 20-member athletic delegation to the Games.
