Cheongju: A woman who went missing in the central city of Cheongju last month was found dead at a waste disposal facility Thursday, police said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the body was discovered at around 8 p.m. in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong Province, about 105 kilometers southeast of Seoul. The victim was reportedly found inside a large sack.

Police earlier began searching the site after her former boyfriend, also in his 50s, confessed to investigators that he had murdered the victim and abandoned her body at the waste disposal facility.

The victim was last seen on surveillance camera footage driving her SUV and leaving her workplace in Cheongju, some 125 kilometers south of Seoul, at around 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 14.
