Military officer dismissed amid embezzlement, sex crime allegations
SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- An Army officer in charge of the South Korean military's remains recovery team has been removed from the position for alleged embezzlement and sexual violence, a defense ministry official said Wednesday.
While serving at the Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification at the Ministry of National Defense, the colonel, whose surname is Lee, is suspected of having personally used some donated funds and made remarks believed to constitute sexual harassment of a colleague.
Military investigation authorities are looking into the allegations.
