Seoul: Meritz Financial Group on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 737.6 billion won (US$534.1 million), marking an increase of 0.2 percent from the same period last year. This slight rise in net income indicates a stable financial position for the group amidst challenging market conditions.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the group's operating profit for the April-June period was recorded at 949.7 billion won, representing a decrease of 5.6 percent compared to a year ago. This decline in operating profit suggests some operational challenges faced by the company during the quarter.

In addition to the changes in net income and operating profit, Meritz Financial Group experienced a significant decrease in revenue. The revenue for the second quarter fell 16.7 percent, totaling 9.35 trillion won. This decline in revenue reflects broader market trends and potential shifts in consumer demand or investment strategies.
