Marine Corps chief to visit U.S., Mexico

SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Marine Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Jun Jin-goo will travel to the United States and Mexico next week to discuss bilateral military exchanges and cooperation in the arms industry, his office said Friday.

During his nine-day trip set to begin Saturday, he will meet top defense officials in the two countries. They include U.S. Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, U.S. Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson and Mexican Marine chief Rafael Lopez Martinez.

His trip has been arranged on the invitation of the two countries' marine forces.
