Seoul: LS Cable and System Ltd., South Korea: LS Cable and System Ltd., South Korea's leading wire and cable manufacturer, announced it has secured a significant order for power distribution systems from a U.S. technology company for its data centers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LS Cable will supply bus duct power distribution systems to the unnamed U.S. firm's data centers in the United States and other regions over the next three years. The agreement begins with a supply of 20 billion won (US$14 million) worth of bus ducts this year, with the total value projected to surpass 500 billion won.
"This is the first major bus duct deal with a global big tech company. We aim to strengthen our leading position in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market," stated Kim Woo-tae, head of LS Cable's power distribution solutions division.
LS Cable is increasing the production of bus ducts at its facilities in South Korea and the U.S. Additionally, it is constructing a new facility in Mexico to better serve the U.S. market. Bus ducts offer lower power loss, heat generation, and fire risk compared to conventional wiring, making them essential for high-power facilities such as data centers.
