Seoul: Lotte Chemical Corp. on Wednesday reported a third-quarter net loss of 163.6 billion won (US$111.5 million), remaining in the red compared with the same period last year. The company indicated in a regulatory filing that it sustained an operating loss of 132.6 billion won for the July-September timeframe, which contrasts with a larger loss of 417.4 billion won in the previous year. Additionally, sales decreased by 5.8 percent, totaling 4.78 trillion won.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the operating loss reported by Lotte Chemical was 8.5 percent higher than the average estimate, as determined by a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
