Seoul: The LPGA Tour is set to make its return to the southern coast of South Korea, hosting its sole tournament in the country next fall. This announcement comes as part of the LPGA's unveiling of its 2026 schedule, which boasts 33 tournaments with a record-breaking total purse of US$132 million.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the BMW Ladies Championship will once again be held at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Jeolla Province, from October 22 to 25, marking its second consecutive year at this location. The tournament will feature a purse of $2.35 million, a slight increase from the previous year's $2.3 million. South Korean golfer Kim Sei-young claimed victory in this year's tournament, becoming the first South Korean to win the event since Ko Jin-young in 2021.

The LPGA and BMW Korea have been rotating the tournament's location across the country since its inception. The first two editions took place in the southeastern city of Busan in 2019 and 2021, with the 2020 event being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was subsequently hosted in the eastern town of Wonju in 2022, followed by two editions in the city of Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

Pine Beach Golf Links, designed by Gary Roger Baird and Davie Dale, is renowned for its greens and tee boxes that are nestled along the beach and perched on seaside cliffs. The course is considered one of the top golfing destinations in South Korea, offering both a stunning scenic backdrop and challenging play with its sloping fairways and daunting bunkers.

Earlier this year, BMW Korea renewed its partnership with the LPGA, committing to host the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea through 2029.
