Palo alto: LIG Nex1 Co., a South Korean missiles and weapons manufacturer, has announced a partnership with the U.S.-based artificial intelligence firm Palantir Technologies Inc. to develop integrated air defense and unmanned system solutions. This collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed recently in Palo Alto, California.

According to Yonhap News Agency, LIG Nex1 aims to leverage its expertise in missile system integration in combination with Palantir's data-driven software solutions. This partnership seeks to bolster research and development capabilities for addressing challenges on future battlefields. The focus of their joint efforts includes exploring opportunities to enhance defense solutions specifically for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

LIG Nex1 anticipates that the collaboration will not only enhance the defense capabilities of the UAE but also impact other global export markets. The partnership is expected to enable faster and more efficient responses across various operational scenarios. Shin Ick-hyun, the CEO of LIG Nex1, expressed optimism that the expanded cooperation with Palantir will further strengthen their national defense research and development capabilities and enhance global competitiveness.
