Seoul: The LG Twins announced Saturday they have acquired Australian pitcher Jon Kennedy as their new Asian quota player.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kennedy signed with the team for US$20,000 for the remainder of this Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) season, taking over the spot previously held by fellow Australian, Lachlan Wells. Kennedy and Wells had been teammates representing Australia at this year's World Baseball Classic.
Kennedy, who is 31 years old, has primarily pitched in Australia but also brings four years of U.S. minor league experience to the table, having reached as high as Triple-A.
