LG OLED TV wins top European video-audio award for 6th straight year
SEOUL-- LG Electronics Inc.'s cutting edge organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV won the top European video-audio award for the sixth straight year, the company said Tuesday.
The home appliance giant said its OLED 65E7 model took the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) highest award in the premium category for this year. The South Korean company's TV sets have won the highly acclaimed award every year since 2012.
It said EISA gave high marks to the technology incorporated into the TV.
"The technology gives viewers a superb contrast with absolute blacks and bright highlights, plus vibrant colors that don't diminish at wide viewing angles," the association said. It added that the TV also has enhanced performance over previous models in key areas such as near-black detailing and peak luminance. EISA, moreover lauded the TV's super-thin design, Dolby Atmos-compatible speaker system and slick user interface that all contributed to making the set a winner.
Besides the premium OLED TV set, LG said its super-ultra HD TV (model 55SJ850V) secured the EISA LCD TV award, while its sound bar (model SJ9) took the top post for the associations sound bar award.
The EISA award was set up in 1982 with products being judged by committees comprised of experts in related industries.
