Seoul: LG Energy Solution Ltd. announced the introduction of a rapid examination service designed to assess the condition of electric vehicle (EV) batteries, aiming to offer precise evaluations for consumers interested in purchasing used cars.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean company has named the new service B.once. This service is capable of providing crucial battery metrics such as capacity, voltage, and temperature in just five minutes using a specialized device available to used car dealers.
LG Energy Solution highlighted that the development of this service is supported by its extensive portfolio of over 10,000 patents in battery management and examination. The intuitive reports generated by B.once will include driving distance estimates and details on battery degradation.
The company expressed that B.once's impartial evaluation of battery performance is expected to foster a market environment where consumers can buy used EVs without apprehension and dealers can trade with certainty. Revolt, a prominent South Korean platform for used EVs, is set to integrate the new service later this month.
