Seoul: LG CNS Co., an information technology affiliate of LG Electronics Inc., has reported a significant increase in its fourth-quarter net profit, reaching 180.6 billion won (US$124.4 million), marking a 36.6 percent rise from the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the October-December period increased by 7.9 percent year-on-year to 216 billion won. However, sales experienced a decline of 4.4 percent, totaling 1.93 trillion won during the same period.

The company's earnings surpassed market expectations, as analysts had predicted an average net profit of 158.9 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency.
