Uljin: A search and rescue operation is under way in the sea off the southeastern county of Uljin after a leisure boat with three people on board went missing. The incident occurred on Sunday, with authorities stepping up efforts on Monday to locate the vessel and its occupants, according to local police. According to Yonhap News Agency, the Uljin Coast Guard received reports from the families of the sailors around 8 p.m. on Sunday, alerting them that contact with the 0.6-ton boat had been lost. The boat had set off from Uljin's Jiksan Port, approximately 230 kilometers from Seoul, at 1 p.m. on the same day for a fishing trip. In response to the situation, the Coast Guard has deployed a coordinated search effort, involving 13 patrol ships and two helicopters, to scour the area in hopes of finding the missing boat and ensuring the safety of those on board.
