Lee Voices Hope for Peace Amid Middle East Conflict

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Sunday expressed hope for peace and for overcoming uncertainty sparked by war in the Middle East in an Easter message.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee shared his thoughts on social media platform X, stating, "(I) sincerely hope that the miracle of the Resurrection -- leading toward peace, rather than confrontation and division, and love, rather than hatred and conflict -- will be realized in our society today." He emphasized the importance of these values in the current climate of global tension.

President Lee also cited a Bible verse in his Easter message, "Peace be with you," which was spoken by Jesus to his disciples after his resurrection. He highlighted that these words provide unwavering comfort and courage to those striving to navigate life amid the anxiety caused by the Middle East war.

Lee conveyed his confidence in the resilience and unity of South Korea, stating, "The Republic of Korea will overcome this crisis wisely by coming together as one." His message aimed to inspire solidarity and hope during challenging times.
