Lee Urges Beijing’s Mediation in Korean Peninsula Affairs

Shanghai: President Lee Jae Myung revealed that he has requested Beijing to act as a mediator in addressing issues on the Korean Peninsula, particularly concerning North Korea's nuclear weapons program. This announcement follows a recent summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping during Lee's state visit to China.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee made the statement while in Shanghai, highlighting discussions held with President Xi earlier in the week. During a luncheon with reporters, Lee shared that President Xi emphasized the importance of maintaining "patience" when dealing with matters related to North Korea.
