Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung will meet with leaders of the ruling Democratic Party (DP) and the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) next week, the presidential office announced Friday. The meeting aims to foster dialogue and enhance cooperative politics between the major political parties.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee is set to have a luncheon meeting on Monday with DP leader Jung Chung-rae and PPP leader Jang Dong-hyuk, along with their senior aides. Kim Byung-wook, the presidential secretary for political affairs, briefed reporters about the planned discussions.
Following the initial three-way meeting, a separate one-on-one discussion between President Lee and Jang will take place at the request of the PPP leader. This series of meetings is intended to facilitate a candid exchange of opinions on state affairs, with the hope of bolstering communication and collaboration across party lines, as noted by Kim.
