Lee Engages in Strategic Discussions with Hyundai and LG Leaders

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung held meetings with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo to discuss business and trade issues, the presidential office announced Friday. These discussions aimed at addressing key economic and trade challenges.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee hosted a dinner meeting with Chung on Monday, followed by another dinner with Koo on Tuesday, as confirmed by presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung. The conversations were held against the backdrop of anticipated U.S. tariffs, with President Donald Trump announcing a 25 percent levy on South Korean goods set to take effect on August 1, providing a narrow window for Seoul to negotiate terms.

During the meetings, President Lee engaged with the executives on several pivotal topics, including investment strategies in the United States, the implications of global trade dynamics, and initiatives for regional revitalization. The discussions also covered research and development priorities and the broader vision for future societal advancement. These dialogues underscore the administration's commitment to navigating international trade challenges and fostering economic growth.
