Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Friday appointed Vice Budget Minister Lim Ki-keun as his new minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the presidential office said. Lim will replace Yoon Chang-ryeol as head of the office tasked with assisting the prime minister, a Cheong Wa Dae official told a press briefing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the appointment is expected to enhance the coordination of interests among different ministries. Seong Ghi-hong, senior presidential secretary for public relations and communication, stated that Lim is anticipated to manage state affairs effectively by leveraging his extensive experience in coordinating complex economic policies as a top expert in the field.
Lim's career before becoming vice budget minister includes serving as chief of the Public Procurement Service and holding various senior positions at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. His expertise is seen as a valuable asset in his new role, where he will work closely with the prime minister to ensure smooth policy implementation across government sectors.
