Seoul: KT and G Corp. on Thursday reported its fourth-quarter net profit of 301.7 billion won (US$208.5 million), marking a surge of 167.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the October-December timeframe rose by 5.3 percent year-on-year, reaching 208.5 billion won. Additionally, the company's revenue saw an increase of 8 percent, amounting to 1.55 trillion won.

The financial results surpassed market expectations, with the average estimate of net profit by analysts being 257.4 billion won, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
