KOSPI Ends First Trading Day of 2023 Down 0.48%

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) shed ten-point-73 points, or zero-point-48 percent, on Monday, closing the first trading day of the year at two-thousand-225-point-67.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing seven-point-78 points, or one-point-15 percent, to close the day at 671-point-51.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened eight-point-one won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-272-point-six won.
