KOSPI 200 Stocks Show Mixed Performance with Notable Gains in Aerospace and Defense

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 stocks closed on Tuesday with a display of mixed performance on the main Korea Stock Exchange. Key aerospace and defense companies saw significant gains, driving the overall market sentiment upward.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Aerospace led the charge with a substantial increase, closing at 1,004,000 KRW, up by 85,000 KRW. LIG Defense and Aerospace also recorded a notable rise, finishing at 810,000 KRW, marking a gain of 102,000 KRW. Other companies such as OCI Holdings and Hanmi Pharm experienced appreciable gains, closing at 225,000 KRW and 378,000 KRW, respectively.

The day's trading also saw increases in other sectors. GS climbed to 96,900 KRW, reflecting an increase of 12,300 KRW, while Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance saw an uptick, closing at 620,000 KRW with a rise of 4,000 KRW. Additionally, KCC and SK Telecom ended the day positively, with KCC at 396,500 KRW, up by 26,000 KRW, and SK Telecom at 91,400 KRW, up by 9,400 KRW.

Conversely, some companies experienced declines. Hyundai Marine and Fire Insurance and Hyundai Motor both fell by 500 KRW, closing at 36,800 KRW and 392,500 KRW, respectively. Orion Holdings and KAL also recorded slight decreases, ending the day at 25,400 KRW and 26,100 KRW.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 stocks exhibited a blend of advances and setbacks, with the aerospace and defense sectors making significant contributions to the positive trends observed.
