Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a notable decrease in closing prices on Wednesday, with numerous stocks trading on the Korea Stock Exchange experiencing declines. Among the stocks, DB HiTek's price remained unchanged at 111,800 KRW. However, several other companies saw their stock values fall, including CJ, which dropped by 11,300 KRW to close at 142,300 KRW, and Hanwha, which decreased by 8,400 KRW to settle at 93,400 KRW.
According to Yonhap News Agency, some of the significant downturns were observed in companies like HYOSUNG HEAVY, which saw a decline of 213,000 KRW, closing at 2,689,000 KRW, and SamsungElecMech, which dropped by 169,000 KRW, finishing at 1,479,000 KRW. LG Energy Solution and HD HYUNDAI also experienced declines, with their prices falling by 16,500 KRW and 16,800 KRW, respectively.
Not all companies faced losses, as Hyundai MandF INS and DB INSURANCE experienced slight upticks, closing at 37,950 KRW and 151,400 KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, other notable decreases included POSCO FUTURE M, which fell by 13,500 KRW to 144,700 KRW, and Hanwha Aerospace, which decreased by 81,000 KRW to 1,041,000 KRW.
The overall trend on the exchange highlighted a challenging day for many of the KOSPI 200 stocks, with a range of industries represented among those experiencing declines. The data reflects a broader market movement that affected various sectors, from chemical companies like YoulchonChem and COSMOCHEM to defense and aerospace, as seen with LIG Defense and Aerospace.
