Seoul: Thursday's closing prices for the KOSPI 200 stocks on the main Korea Stock Exchange revealed considerable declines, with a few exceptions showing gains.
According to Yonhap News Agency, key stocks such as DoubleUGames, HL MANDO, and HANKOOK TIRE and TECHNOLOGY experienced drops, with DoubleUGames closing at 63,700 KRW, down by 800 KRW, and HL MANDO at 48,350 KRW, down by 350 KRW. HANKOOK TIRE and TECHNOLOGY marked a significant decrease of 2,300 KRW, closing at 70,700 KRW. Meanwhile, KIWOOM saw a steep decline of 19,500 KRW, settling at 315,000 KRW.
Other notable declines included KOLMAR KOREA, which dropped by 9,300 KRW to close at 102,800 KRW, and LG Corp., down by 1,200 KRW, closing at 101,300 KRW. KIA CORP. and HyundaiMtr also faced declines, closing at 144,800 KRW and 445,500 KRW, respectively.
Conversely, some stocks managed to post gains. ASIA HOLDINGS surged by 9,400 KRW to finish at 197,900 KRW, while MiwonComcl rose by 11,000 KRW, closing at 134,900 KRW. SK hynix also saw a notable increase, climbing by 110,000 KRW to end at 2,186,000 KRW.
While the majority of stocks showed downward trends, a few like TKG Huchems and S-1 recorded positive movements, with TKG Huchems gaining 420 KRW to close at 16,040 KRW, and S-1 rising by 10,200 KRW to finish at 82,000 KRW.
