Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a predominantly downward trend in its latest trading session, with the majority of stocks recording declines. Among the companies listed, some notable decreases were observed in both large-cap and small-cap stocks.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several major companies experienced significant drops in their stock prices. HD Hyundai Electric saw a decrease of 43,000, closing at 872,000. Similarly, SK hynix experienced a major decline of 49,000, bringing its closing price to 873,000. Doosan, another significant player, fell by 91,000 to finish at 1,112,000.
Other notable declines included CJ, which dropped by 7,900 to close at 198,600, and HYOSUNG TNC, which saw a fall of 22,000, ending the session at 379,500. KIA CORP. also faced a downturn, with a decrease of 4,300, closing at 151,500. KRAFTON and SKSQUARE recorded declines of 4,000 and 34,000, closing at 250,500 and 510,000, respectively.
Conversely, a few stocks managed to rise amidst the general downward trend. SK Innovation saw an increase of 2,000, closing at 113,400. CSWIND and DL EandC also experienced positive movements, with CSWIND rising by 2,900 to close at 63,100, and DL EandC increasing by 3,400 to finish at 69,200. HANILCMT recorded a marginal rise of 20, closing at 16,550.
Overall, the trading session reflected a challenging market environment with most companies experiencing declines, although a select few managed to achieve gains.
