Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a varied performance with several stocks experiencing significant gains, particularly in the technology and pharmaceutical sectors. NAVER saw an increase of 1,000, closing at 253,000, while Kakao rose by 800 to reach 59,500. NCsoft also experienced a rise of 4,000, ending at 205,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the pharmaceutical sector also showed strength, with HanmiPharm increasing by 4,500 to 293,500 and DAEWOONG PHARM enjoying a substantial gain of 13,500, closing at 158,800. The chemical company LGCHEM recorded a significant rise of 17,000, reaching 257,000.
In contrast, some stocks experienced declines. HD Hyundai Infracore dropped by 1,150 to 12,040, and KEPCO E and C fell by 1,900 to 93,300. LIG Nex1 saw a decrease of 7,000, closing at 516,000, while Youngone Corp dipped by 1,400 to 61,500.
Additional notable gains were observed in LG H and H, which rose by 3,000 to 327,000, and ShinhanGroup, which increased by 2,000, closing at 63,700. Among the financial stocks, KBFinancialGroup gained 3,400 to reach 116,900, and HANAFINANCIALGR rose by 1,700 to 87,500.
Despite the mixed results, the technology and pharmaceutical sectors contributed positively to the overall index performance, indicating investor confidence in these industries.
