Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a varied performance in Wednesday's trading session, with several companies recording significant gains while others faced declines. The closing prices on the Korea Stock Exchange highlighted a range of movements among the major stocks.
According to Yonhap News Agency, CJ Logistics recorded an increase in its closing price, reaching 76,900 KRW, up by 900 KRW. Yuhan also experienced a rise, closing at 75,100 KRW, up by 300 KRW. SLCORP saw a more substantial increase, closing at 56,100 KRW with a gain of 2,000 KRW. Conversely, Doosan faced a downturn, closing at 1,260,000 KRW, down by 14,000 KRW, while DL's price fell to 51,200 KRW, a decrease of 700 KRW.
Hankook and Company saw its price rise to 25,450 KRW, up by 400 KRW. Kia Corp. experienced a notable increase, closing at 133,000 KRW, a rise of 3,400 KRW. Hyundai Steel's price went up to 27,650 KRW, with an increase of 1,200 KRW. Shinsegae reported a significant gain, closing at 430,000 KRW, up by 4,500 KRW. Lotte Fine Chem and DB HiTek also saw increases in their stock prices, with gains of 1,150 KRW and 5,000 KRW, respectively.
On the other hand, some companies experienced declines. LotteChilsung's price fell to 100,300 KRW, a decrease of 2,400 KRW. DongwonInd and GS Retail also faced declines, with their prices falling by 750 KRW and 250 KRW, respectively. YoungoneHoldings closed at 189,900 KRW, down by 1,000 KRW, while Hanssem's price decreased by 350 KRW, closing at 38,650 KRW.
Noteworthy gains were recorded by LG Innotek, closing at 601,000 KRW, up by 76,000 KRW, and SK Square, which rose by 59,000 KRW to 1,119,000 KRW. Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. also reported gains, with increases of 6,000 KRW and 9,500 KRW, respectively. Samsung Electro-Mechanics experienced a significant rise, closing at 1,356,000 KRW, up by 171,000 KRW.
