Seoul: The KOSPI 200 stocks on the Korea Stock Exchange experienced a mixed day of trading on Thursday, with several companies witnessing declines while others saw gains. Notable movements in stock prices were observed across different sectors, reflecting varied market sentiments.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Youngone Holdings closed at 139,600 KRW, down by 1,300 KRW. Korea Zinc saw a decrease of 9,000 KRW, closing at 1,175,000 KRW. HDKSOE ended the day at 446,000 KRW, down by 16,000 KRW, while OCI Holdings dropped by 2,300 KRW, closing at 101,700 KRW. HD Hyundai Mipo also experienced a decline, closing at 229,500 KRW, down by 4,000 KRW.
Conversely, certain stocks showed positive trends. Hanwha Solutions increased by 150 KRW, closing at 30,300 KRW, and S-Oil rose by 500 KRW to close at 73,100 KRW. LS Electric saw a significant increase, closing at 367,000 KRW, up by 47,500 KRW. Kogas ended the day at 42,400 KRW, an increase of 450 KRW.
Other notable movements included Samsung Heavy Industries, which declined by 200 KRW to close at 23,900 KRW, and Hanall Biopharma, which fell by 1,100 KRW to close at 33,400 KRW. Samsung F and M Ins remained unchanged at 454,500 KRW. LG Corp. increased by 700 KRW, closing at 80,800 KRW. SeAH Steel Holdings dropped by 4,000 KRW, closing at 144,000 KRW.
Further declines were observed in KAL, Daewoong, and Samyang Food, with decreases of 250 KRW, 600 KRW, and 3,000 KRW respectively. CJ CheilJedang also fell by 1,000 KRW, closing at 233,000 KRW. POSCO International saw a significant rise, increasing by 5,200 KRW to close at 59,800 KRW. Taekwang Industrial and LG Innotek experienced declines, closing at 810,000 KRW and 216,000 KRW respectively.
Additional movements included LOTTE Chemical Corp, HMM, Hyundai Wia, and Hanwha Aerospace, with Hanwha Aerospace rising significantly by 42,000 KRW to close at 1,049,000 KRW. Kumho Petrochemical, SKC, and Mirae Asset Securities experienced declines, while Mobis fell by 8,500 KRW to close at 306,000 KRW.
Lastly, stocks such as HDC Holdings, S-1, Hanchem, and DWS also registered declines, while S-1 saw a minor increase of 100 KRW to close at 76,500 KRW. Samsung Securities, KEPCO, IBK, Cheil Worldwide, LOTTE Wellfood, and Dongsuh closed with varying degrees of declines.
