Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a range of movements with notable gains in the defense and electronics sectors. LIG Defense and Aerospace led the pack with a significant increase, closing at 708,000, up by 42,000. Other companies in the defense sector also experienced positive changes, such as Hanwha Ocean, which rose by 2,300 to close at 83,600, and Hyundai Rotem, which climbed 2,800 to reach 122,300.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the electronics sector also saw mixed performances. SANIL Electric recorded a rise of 4,700, closing at 201,000, while SK Innovation increased by 3,100 to close at 139,400. However, LG Electronics experienced a decline, dropping by 2,100 to end at 197,900.
In the financial sector, Shinhan Group and KB Financial Group recorded increases. Shinhan Group rose by 1,200 to close at 113,300, while KB Financial Group increased by 2,500, reaching 179,200. Meanwhile, JB Financial Group saw a decline, dropping by 1,400 to close at 31,550.
The chemical and pharmaceutical sectors also showed mixed results. LGCHEM decreased by 3,000 to close at 268,000, but Celltrion rose by 3,100 to end at 180,300. DAEWOONG PHARM saw an increase of 2,400, closing at 111,300.
In addition, the consumer goods sector reported declines for companies like Amorepacific, which fell by 1,500 to close at 143,100, and LG H and H, which decreased by 5,000 to reach 296,500. However, Hyundai Glovis in the logistics sector saw a notable rise of 5,500, closing at 206,000.
