Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a series of ups and downs as stocks closed with significant fluctuations. Among the notable movements, CJ emerged as a standout performer, closing at 189,300 with an increase of 14,500. HYBE also saw a substantial rise, closing at 296,000, up by 8,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies recorded gains. SK hynix showed a significant increase, climbing by 9,000 to close at 571,000. HanmiPharm experienced a rise of 6,500, ending the session at 456,500. The steel sector saw SeAH Steel Holdings increase by 1,300, closing at 140,300, while KOLON IND was up by 1,150, closing at 43,750.
The financial sector showed mixed results. Meritz Financial saw a rise of 1,400, closing at 110,100, while KB Financial Group experienced a decline, dropping by 1,000 to 121,200. JB Financial Group also saw a decrease, closing at 23,350, down by 900. Meanwhile, iM Financial Group experienced a modest increase, closing at 14,220, up 120.
In the technology and retail sectors, SK ie technology rose by 950 to close at 29,800, and emart climbed by 1,000 to finish at 80,400. The entertainment giant HYBE and the tire company HANKOOK showed notable gains as well.
Other noteworthy performances included HyundaiEng and Const, which rose by 1,000 to close at 61,600, and DL E and C, which increased by 600 to reach 40,050. Despite the overall positive trend, some companies faced declines, such as KIA CORP., which fell by 1,100 to close at 113,400, and Youngpoong, which decreased by 400, closing at 57,900.
