Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a notable surge, with several major companies closing higher. Key players in the market, including Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom, were among those contributing to the upward momentum. The index reflected a broader market rally, highlighting investor confidence in the South Korean economy. According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics' mechanical division led with an impressive increase, closing at 614,000, marking a rise of 30,000. SK Telecom also showed significant gains, closing at 98,100, up by 2,600. The upward trend was further supported by Hyundai Elevator, which rose by 5,200, closing at 99,600, and KTandG, which ended the day at 170,400, up by 2,300. Other notable performers included Samsung C and T, which saw a substantial increase of 11,500 to close at 307,500, and Hanwha Solutions, which climbed 250 to finish at 42,400. LS Electric and Hanall Biopharma also contributed to the positive market sentiment, with LS Electric closing at 186,800, up by 1 ,200, and Hanall Biopharma increasing by 2,200 to reach 48,250. However, not all companies shared in the gains. Youngone Holdings and Hanwha Aerospace experienced declines, with Youngone Holdings dropping by 5,500 to settle at 209,000, and Hanwha Aerospace decreasing by 14,000 to close at 1,509,000. The market's overall performance was strong, with significant contributions from tech and industrial sectors, reflecting investor optimism and a robust economic outlook.
