Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with a notable upward trend as several companies saw their stock prices rise significantly. Leading the charge were SK Innovation and KB Financial Group, with SK Innovation closing at 98,400, an increase of 8,900, while KB Financial Group ended at 153,700, up by 4,400. Other substantial gains included Youngone Corp at 75,100, KOLON IND at 61,100, and Meritz Financial at 104,100, each experiencing significant increases.
According to Yonhap News Agency, additional companies contributing to the positive market performance included BNK Financial Group and iM Financial Group, closing at 16,930 and 16,470, respectively. Retail giant emart also saw a rise, closing at 84,300. The automotive sector showed growth with Hankook Tire and Technology closing at 65,100, and Hyundai Autoever at 531,000.
The biotechnology sector marked a significant surge with Samsung Biologics closing at 1,448,000, marking an increase of 105,000. KRAFTON also witnessed a notable rise, closing at 223,500. Meanwhile, KEPCO E and C ended at 110,700, and HD Hyundai at 203,000, both contributing to the index's upward momentum.
Despite the overall positive trend, a few companies saw declines. SK Square closed lower at 1,640,000, a decrease of 80,000, and d'Alba Global fell to 233,000. However, the overall market sentiment was optimistic as gains across various sectors strengthened the KOSPI 200 index.
The financial and technology sectors were significant contributors to the day's positive outcome. Companies like Hyundai Autoever and Doosan Robotics, which closed at 91,600, reflected the growing investor confidence at the end of the trading session.
