Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed notable increases in its closing prices, with several key companies showing upward trends. Hyundai Motor saw its price rise by 13,500 to close at 491,500, while POSCO Holdings experienced an increase of 15,500, closing at 357,000. Samsung Electronics also reported a substantial gain of 17,100, resulting in a closing price of 167,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the positive momentum was witnessed across various sectors. KCC recorded a significant jump of 23,500, closing at 497,500, and KIWOOM rose by 38,000 to settle at 455,000. Korea Zinc experienced an increase of 66,000, finishing at 1,716,000, while HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw its price rise by 16,000, closing at 417,500.
Other notable increases included Hanmi Semiconductor, which climbed by 12,200 to close at 199,300, and POSCO Future M, which increased by 9,000, closing at 226,500. Lotte Fine Chemical's price rose by 2,150, settling at 48,800, and OCI Holdings jumped by 7,300 to end at 118,000.
Despite the overall positive performance, a few companies saw a decline. S-Oil experienced a drop of 3,300, closing at 97,700, and NCsoft fell by 6,500, resulting in a closing price of 213,500. These declines were exceptions in an otherwise upward trend across the KOSPI 200 index.
