Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected a challenging trading session with several major companies experiencing declines in their stock prices. Notable decreases were seen across various sectors, including technology, retail, and manufacturing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, GC Corp's share price fell by 2,100, closing at 142,900. Similarly, KOLON IND saw a reduction of 4,500, ending the day at 73,000. GS Retail also experienced a downturn, with its stock decreasing by 200 to close at 21,900. ISUPETASYS incurred a significant loss, with its share price dropping by 6,500 to 98,000.
In the technology sector, SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. and SamsungElecMech both faced declines, with their prices dropping to 408,000 and 407,500, respectively. LG Energy Solution and NAVER also saw their shares decrease, with LG closing at 394,500 after a drop of 15,500 and NAVER ending at 201,500 after a decline of 5,500.
Despite the overall downward trend, a few companies registered gains. DN AUTOMOTIVE's stock rose by 200, closing at 38,150. SamsungEandA and Hanwha Ocean also reported increases, with their shares rising to 35,700 and 120,200, respectively. NCsoft saw a rise in its stock by 2,000, closing at 224,000. PanOcean managed a slight increase of 20, ending at 4,895.
Overall, the market exhibited significant volatility, with some companies managing to post gains amid a predominantly declining trend across the KOSPI 200 index.
