Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a substantial drop as several major companies reported significant declines in their stock prices. The market's downturn has raised concerns among investors and market analysts.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Dongwon Industries recorded a decrease of 200, closing at 34,950. GS Retail saw its price fall by 1,000, ending at 24,500. ISUPETASYS experienced one of the steepest declines, dropping by 14,400 to settle at 71,400. COSMAX and KPIC also faced declines, with their shares dropping by 7,900 and 5,600, respectively.
LS and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries reported notable losses, with LS dropping by 37,000 to 268,000 and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries falling by 35,500 to 451,000. Mirae Asset Securities and SKC saw their shares decrease by 4,000 and 9,700, respectively. Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and GC Biopharma Corp. also reported significant declines in their stock prices, with Samsung SDI dropping by 49,000 and GC Biopharma by 3,200.
Other companies such as DN Automotive, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Youlchon Chemical also faced downturns, with their prices decreasing by 1,700, 211,000, and 670, respectively. Hyosung Heavy recorded a substantial fall of 301,000, closing at 2,324,000, while LG Energy Solution and Hanmi Science saw their stocks decrease by 19,000 and 1,550, respectively.
Several other firms, including Hotel Shilla, Hanssem, and F and F, reported declines in their stock prices. Youngone Holdings and Korea Zinc experienced reductions of 2,500 and 79,000, respectively. HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering and Samsung Heavy Industries also saw their shares decrease by 24,500 and 1,950.
Additionally, LS Electric, Hanwha Solutions, LG Innotek, and OCI Holdings reported declines in their stock prices. S-Oil, OTOKI, and SD Biosensor also faced drops of 6,900, 1,500, and 140, respectively. Samsung Epis Holdings and Lotte Chemical Corp saw their shares decrease by 25,000 and 3,500.
Other significant declines include those of Mobis, S-1, Hanwha Aerospace, Hyundai Wia, SK Telecom, Kumho Petrochemical, and HMM, with notable reductions in their respective stock prices.
