Seoul: The latest KOSPI 200 closing prices reveal a general downward trend among the majority of stocks, with a few exceptions marking gains. Key players in the market, such as YoungoneHoldings and OCI Holdings, experienced noticeable declines in their stock prices, closing at 209,000 down by 2,500 and 318,500 down by 9,500, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, notable declines were observed in several other companies as well. LS ELECTRIC saw a reduction of 5,500, closing at 313,000, while KOREA ZINC fell by 1,000 to finish at 1,559,000. HANWHA AEROSPACE faced a significant drop of 10,000, bringing its closing price to 1,307,000. Meanwhile, SamsungHvyInd and S-Oil closed at 31,950 and 116,800, representing decreases of 1,750 and 1,400, respectively.
On the upside, some companies registered gains despite the overarching trend. SAMSUNG EPIS HOLDING saw an increase of 4,000, closing at a price of 530,000. SK and S-1 also reported gains, with SK rising by 7,000 to 550,000 and S-1 increasing by 800 to close at 72,900. LOTTE SHOPPING and KT and G experienced upward movements as well, closing at 138,100 and 181,000, following increases of 2,000 and 4,300, respectively.
In contrast, companies like LG Display and SamsungSecu continued to decline, closing at 12,330 and 137,200, reflecting decreases of 120 and 8,000, respectively. Despite the prevalent downward trend, other companies like POSCO DX and CheilWorldwide managed minor gains, closing at 35,250 and 19,190, respectively.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index has displayed a mixed performance, with a notable tilt towards declining stock prices, even as a handful of companies have managed to secure gains amid the fluctuations.
