Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed a surge in several stocks, with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and DOOSAN marking significant increases. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries experienced a rise of 14,000, closing at 573,000, while DOOSAN saw an increase of 24,000, closing at 872,000. These gains highlight a positive trading session for the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other notable performances included LS, which rose by 11,600 to close at 195,000, and KCC, increasing by 13,000 to finish at 438,000. GC Corp also saw a rise, closing at 162,000 with an increase of 10,900. SK hynix closed at 571,000, up by 6,000, contributing to the optimistic outlook.
Despite the upward trend, some stocks faced declines. SKBP decreased by 2,500, finishing at 133,200, while APR dropped by 6,000, closing at 247,500. ISUPETASYS and SKC also witnessed decreases, with ISUPETASYS down by 13,100 to 135,100, and SKC falling by 4,800 to 108,600.
The session saw gains in other companies as well, including Samsung Electronics, which rose by 1,600 to close at 108,900, and Kia Corp., which ended the day at 125,800, up by 2,900. Cheil Worldwide and SLCORP also experienced increases, closing at 23,050 and 44,050, respectively.
The overall performance of the KOSPI 200 reflected a positive trading environment, with several stocks ending on a high note. The increases in major companies suggest robust investor confidence, signaling potential growth in the market.
